Norlox is commonly used to support a healthy immune response and provide light support for serotonin, resulting in a calming effect. Changes in mood and mental health have been associated with a persistently activated immune system.
NorLox supports healthy brain function by inhibiting leukotriene production, which triggers both sympathetic and hypothalamic- pituitary-adrenal stress responses. NorLox contains acetyl-11-keto-beta-boswellic acid (AKBA), which is a potent inhibitor of 5-lipoxygenase (5-LOX), the enzyme responsible for the production of leukotrienes. AKBA also prevents TNF-α induced expression of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and upregulation of adhesion molecules, both of which are involved in the movement of leukocytes to an immune response site. In addition, NorLox provides 5-HTP to support serotonin levels, which can be reduced by leukotrienes. Lastly, the formulation includes acetyl-L-carnitine as a cognitive enhancer, which promotes mitochondrial health and modulates redox-dependent mechanisms that support neuron survival and longevity.
